in 1964, the church of St. Nicholas in the Bronx. Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a brilliant and charismatic priest, tries to defy the strict rules of college Beauvier Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep) has been guarding for years with an iron fist. She is the director of school and blindly believes in the power of fear and discipline. The policy changes are coming to all strata of society and the school has just accepted to Donald Miller, his first black student. But Sister James (Amy Adams), an innocent, made known to Sister Aloysius that Father Flynn is paying too special attention to Donald, Sister Aloysius is compelled to undertake a crusade to find out the truth and to expel Flynn school. Despite the lack of a single test to confirm the suspicions, Sister Aloysius is doomed to a power struggle with Father Flynn which threatens to destroy the church and school for their devastating consequences.
